World Around Me - Coen Peter NgObjectifs: Student Film of The Year competition
A competition open to all Secondary and JC students nation-wide, the competition goal was to direct and produce a 1-minute short film about the theme "World Around Me". As a 2-person team, I directed and produced the film with a driving theme of digital ethics, achieving 3rd/4th runner-up.
Integrated Design Challenge 2025
This challenge saw IDP students design and construct their own bot powered by a Raspberry Pi and an Arduino Uno. Together with my 3 group mates, as the sole Computing+ student, I spent 2 months producing custom object detection models optimised for the Raspberry Pi to fabricate autonomous Computer Vision capabilities. During our bot's run, we achieved a score of 32/30, bonus points awarded.
SST-NIE Science Communication
As a joint effort between NTU's NIE and SST, my 2 group mates and I worked closely with Dr. Arunsinh Bakulsinh Zala from NTU over the span of over a month to transcribe the doctor's paper, "Effect of aluminide coatings on penetration and microstructure of TIG welded 9Cr-1Mo steel for fusion blanket applications" into a pop science article.
SST-SUTD Big-D Camp 2025
This joint effort between SUTD and SST saw IDP students construct a remote-controlled bot suitable for debris collection over the course of 3 days. Together with my 3 group mates and student mentor of SUTD, we worked tirelessly, burning the midnight oil to produce an Arduino-powered bot from scratch.
Cisco Cybersecurity Essentials
Attending 3-hour sessions weekly for a term in Secondary 3, I learnt the basics of Cybersecurity taught to us by a Cisco mentor. At the end of the course, I took Cisco's online examination and achieved a Cisco Cybersecurity Essentials certificate.
SST-PSTD Jakarta OLE
This Overseas Learning Experience brought the IDP classes of 2025 to Penabur Secondary Tanjung Duren (PSTD) Jakarta to experience the unique culture and to work alongside one another, utilising an Arduino to conduct an air quality experiment.
Yes-But-No CTF 2024
YBN, a group of CTF players from secondary schools, polytechnics, and JCs, organised their annual Capture-the-Flag challenge in 2024. This gave me valuable insights into the multiple facets of cybersecurity.
Floorball NSG
As a member of the SST Floorball CCA from Secondary 1 to 2, I made the school team both years, playing roles from attacker to defender.
